Two weeks ago, my family friend Mary visited my new place for lunch and good conversation. So last weekend, I traveled out to her house to take some pictures of her and her mom Lydia. From taking pictures of both Lydia and Mary for their Christmas cards, to coaxing Indy to take a "Wishbone" picture in front of a stack of books, it was a great time! Mary even took me out to a local pub called Wanker's Corner where I had a delicious chicken quesadilla. Of course, the afternoon was full of good conversation too! Below are a few shots from our time together. :)

Taylor
I was really glad that I was able to come up from school to take Taylor's yearbook photos. We had a great break in the weather and took pictures around the high school and skate park. It was fun for me to see my old school and some teachers too...even though Taylor had to model for me in front of some of his friends walking by. :) Way to be a trooper Taylor! I hope you had a fun time too!
Below are a few from this session. Stay tuned for more after our next session...I have some pretty epic ideas involving this kid and his guitar :)

Jennifer!
Last year I had the pleasure of being one of Jennifer's roommates. And this year, I get to take senior pictures of her! I had a great time wandering around Pacific's campus today with her, discussing our next big adventure...finding this great stone wall out in Beaverton! Below are some of my favorites from today...stay tuned for more!

Stephen is a Senior! Class of 2010
Last week, I had the opportunity to spend a few hours in the beautiful summer weather shooting senior pictures of Stephen (my friend Katie's brother). We hit some of the local parks and were able to find some really great locations. Stephen did an awesome job laughing at my lame jokes and then immediately changing to the "Eminem face" when I asked. Below are a few of my favorites:

Spending the Day with Katie
It's almost become an annual tradition for my bff Katie (you can find her here, here, here and here) and I to have a photoshoot in the summer. We spent the majority of the day outside shooting at various locations and Katie is such a photogenic model, it was too easy to shoot over 400 images! Below are just a few of my favorites. Enjoy! :)

A Day at the Farm
This past week I had the AWESOME opportunity to visit Zenger Farm in Southeast Portland and take some pictures of the kids' camps they hold over the summer. They had two camps going on: cooking camp and farm camp. The cooking campers got to make salad and pizza which included tossing the dough in the air, collecting the veggies and spices and putting together dressing for the salad. The farm campers got to look for insects while they explored the wetlands that surround the farm and made cob habitats for insects as well. All of the kids were able to work on different tasks around the farm and seemed to make everything into a fun activity.
Both camps were totally a blast to photograph, especially because all of the kids were having so much fun! I took way too many pictures, but it was hard to stop snapping away when the kids were clearly having a great time. I really enjoyed my day there and am hoping to be able to return soon. As I kid, I would have loved to go to either of these camps and it is really awesome to know that this farm is not too far away. So enjoy just a few of the many, many photos I took while there.
The kids have "secret spot" time where they are supposed to find a quiet spot to take in all of the animals and plants around them. This picture totally sums up childhood dreaminess for me!
Check out Zenger Farm's website. There are lots of things going on for both adults and kids. It is definitely worth your while to make some time and get over to the farm! It is really a great environment to learn and volunteer.

This girl was so sweet. I thought she was posing for the camera but she was really just trying to give me the flowers she had collected.

Franny from afar
Last semester, my good friend Franny moved back to Montana to continue her college at UM instead. We have missed her a lot and so when she decided to come over to Oregon for her spring break, man, I was excited! Of course, as photography majors, we had to have a photoshoot! So below are some of the shots I got while working in the studio. The first is Franny, the second is Franny with her very cooperative boyfriend (he had to wait in the studio for over an hour until I made him get in pictures) Toby, and lastly my lovely assistant on the shoot, Michelle.

The Sander Family
The Sanders are an amazing family and I was really excited to work with them just before Christmas. It's been awesome to get to know them over the years I've been hanging around; Katie and I have been friends since the 7th grade!
They wanted some updated family pictures and (mom) Tina wanted a few headshots for her work. She is a realtor for Coldwell Banker Bain in the Seattle Area (look her up if you need to sell or buy! :) ). We were really lucky and dodged the rain. I was really fortunate that they have such a pretty house so we could take some shots indoors as well as in their yard. I think you can see in these photos that we had a pretty good time!

Sander Family Preview
It's been a while, hasn't it! Although I have been around taking photos, I just haven't been posting to the blog. So to kick the New Year off, I'll post a quick preview of a session with the Sander family that we did before Christmas. I had a great time with this awesome family and can't wait to show them off! ;)
